Velo News – Heiden’s Ties to Cycling Stay Strong, 30 Years On
Dr. Eric Heiden is pleased to be featured in the Velo News article “Heiden’s Ties to Cycling Stay Strong, 30 Years On.” The article demonstrates how dedicated Dr. Heiden is as the longtime physician for the BMC racing team. What many don’t know about the unassuming doctor is that he was a professional cyclist for seven seasons, even competing in the 1986 Tour de France.
Heiden’s cycling career began only after a decorated career in Olympic Speed Skating. A five-time medalist in the 1980 Olympics, Heiden followed his success with a position as an Olympic Speed Skating coach.
All of this time spent as a professional athlete gives Heiden the experience and industry familiarity to work closely and successfully with professional athletes. Dr. Heiden and his wife, Dr. Karen Haiden, live and practice Orthopedics in Park City, Utah. The couple also has a practice in Salt Lake City.
