Eight Orthopedic Surgeons who are Famous Outside of Orthopedics
Becker’s Spine Review featured Eric Heiden, MD in an article titled, “8 Orthopedic Surgeons Who are Famous Outside of Orthopedics.” A decorated Olympic athlete, Heiden held a record 15 medals as a Speed Skater previous to becoming an Orthopedic Surgeon. In between his speed skating and medical career Heiden spent years as a professional Cyclist, competing in the 1986 Tour de France. In 1991 Dr. Heiden earned his medical degree from Stanford University and now lives and practices in Park City and Salt Lake City, Utah.
